What the hell!

Occasionally people are known to go a bit overboard claiming a challenge is "closer to GBH than a tackle" or words to that effect. Of course usually this is because someone's been a little over zealous. However this challenge from the Norwegian sixth tier really is horrific.

Forget your Joey Bartons, Robbie Savages, Paul Scholes(es) and all the other central midfielders who have occasionally given up tackling for all out brutality, apart from Scholes who could just never tackle anyway so just replaced mistimed with nasty from time to time.

During the match between Fra AFSK and Aurskog-Høland, we've no idea if this is a particularly heated rivalry or anything about the match at all really, was halted for a moment as the number 17 launches himself off the ground and only narrowly misses making full contact with his target:

It's a genuinely sickening and thuggish challenge and yet perhaps the maddest thing about it is that when one of the opposition players goes to confront the number 17 for his actions it's actually him who aims a headbutt at the teammate of the fallen number 10 as if he has any reason to be angry.

There's no place in football for that kind of thing. We'd say "kick it out" but that would just be going down to his level...
