Freddy Adu isn't officially with Las Vegas Lights but he entered the record books for his new side.

After leaving Florida's Tampa Bay Rowdies - a team which ex-Chelsea star Joe Cole used to play for, Adu joined the Nevada based outfit on trial. But he was snubbed of a place for the opening two pre-season games.

Though he eventually made an appearance for the Lights on Saturday night who rounded off their pre-season against DC United. He entered the fray in the 61st minute, replacing Cristian Torres.

Adu, now 28, actually made his debut as a 14-year-old versus DC United in 2004.

While his side lost 4-2, the American did create a goal. And his assist was the first in the clubs history.

He provided a brilliant left-footed cross to Miguel Angel Garduño who prodded home.

Adu will be hoping his impressive cameo is enough to warrant a contract ahead of the regular season.

If he lands a deal with Las Vegas Lights, it'll be his 13th club during his professional career.

Needless to say, Adu's performance which included the clubs first assist got everybody talking.

Here's hoping Lights give Adu a contract.

Who doesn't want to see the Championship Manager legend tear it up in the States?!
