Vinicius Junior had the definition of an up and down game against Celta Vigo's B team this afternoon.

The Brazilian starlet scored a sublime free-kick to equalise for the Castilla side in the 83rd minute but was then sent off moments later having been cautioned for the second time.

Already on a yellow, the referee deemed him to have dived when he went down just outside the Celta penalty box and showed him his marching orders.

The 18-year old was furious with the call and had to be removed from the pitch by his teammates, pointing to the Real Madrid badge in a gesture to the home fans as he eventually left the field of play.

It's potentially bad news for the former Flamengo man as he is not only banned for upcoming Castilla games, La Liga rules mean he is also set to be suspended for next week's El Clasico unless Real are successful with their appeal.

Vinicius impressed in pre-season with the first-team and has been in good form for the B outfit, scoring four times, including twice in the mini-derby against Atletico.

On international duty a week ago, he produced a wonderful assist for Brazil U20's against Chile.

He collected the ball in his own half, humiliated the full-back by flicking the ball past him and bombing down the left at some speed before having the composure to pick out Rodrygo Goes, who fired home.

Will Vinicius be in the Los Blancos first-team sooner rather than later?

Sound off in the comments.
