Robin van Persie Comes On As Sub, Scores Sensational Goal 50-Seconds Later

Robin van Persie is back in the Eredivisie after 14 years away from the Dutch top flight, and he marked his return in style.

The prolific striker ended his spell in Turkey with Fenerbahce by re-signing with boyhood club Feyenoord, where he began his professional football venture.

van Persie enjoyed spells away from De Kuip after moving on in 2004. He signed for Arsenal, spending eights seasons in North London before switching Premier League allegiances.

He joined Manchester United, weighing in with 26 league goals in his debut season, steering his side to the league title.

A stint in the Super Lig then prompted Feyenoord to snap him back up.

And the club immediately benefited with van Persie on the pitch who bagged a goal within a minute after entering the fray.

The 34-year-old made a cameo appearance, coming on in the 77th minute. But scoring 50-seconds into his outing. WHAT A MOMENT!

Despite the three points against Groningen, Feyenoord remain off the pace. Though a strong finish could still see them break into the top three which would earn a spot in Europe.
