Thomas Tuchel Already In Line For Managerial Job After Leaving Borussia Dortmund

He might not be out of a job for long.

Thomas Tuchel has parted company with Borussia Dortmund but is already in line to take on a managerial vacancy.

Despite winning the DFB Pokal against Eintracht Frankfurt in a 2-1 victory on Saturday, the club's first trophy in five years, two days ago,Tuchel has been relieved of his duties.

Dortmund finished behind Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, though their third placed finish did mean they secured automatic qualification to the Champions League next season.

However, reported disagreements with the club's hierarchy has led to his project at Westfalenstadion.ending prematurely, with Dortmund officially confirming his departure today.

Tuchel then took to Twitter to react to his sacking, saying:

"I am grateful for two exciting, beautiful and eventful years. It's a pity to not go on."

There's already talk of Tuchel being back in management imminently though.

The Mirror's Alex Richards says that the 43-year old is "likely" to take on the job at Bayer Leverkusen, who are on the look-out for a manager after sacking former Red Bull Salzburg coach Roger Schmidt following a 6-2 defeat to Tuchel's Dortmund in January, as well as opting not to extend replacement Tayfun Korkut's deal beyond the 2016/17 campaign.

German journalist Raphael Honigstein also reckons Tuchel is Bayer-bound:
