As if the news of N'Golo Kante joining Chelsea wasn't bad enough for Leicester, it would appear that Riyad Mahrez is set to follow the Frenchman out of the club after the Algerian rejected a new contract with the Premier League champions.
The Guardian are reporting that Mahrez is seeking a new challenge away from the King Power Stadium and, even though the Leicester board have offered him a contract which would boost his weekly earnings from £35,000 per week to £80,000 a week, it doesn't look like it will be enough to keep hold of the PFA Player of The Year.
The news will come as a devastating blow to the club's fans, coming just a day after Claudio Ranieri voiced his optimism about the chances of Mahrez staying, during an interview at the club's training camp in Austria: "He remains with us. He is not the kind of man who will say: 'Coach I want to leave.' He is happy here,"

Several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal, have been heavily linked with Mahrez's signature, as have Barcelona and Real Madrid. It remains to be seen where he will decide to go, though.
