Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is wanted by Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, according to reports, and fans are in a complete state of shock.

The 27-year-old, who has two years left on his current deal, struggled to win over the majority of fans after a number of errors last season.

In fact, he was booed by his own fans in Arsenal's Emirates Cup defeat to Lyon at the weekend.

But it appears he has suitors, with Leonardo Jardim's side making an official enquiry for the German international, according to French publication L'Equipe.

The report claims he is valued at the €30 million mark.

Mustafi was named captain for Arsenal's first pre-season game against Colarado Rapids last month.

Laurent Koscielny, who was the previous club captain, refused to make the trip across the pond as he wants Arsenal to allow him to return to France.

So that man Mustafi assumed the armband for part of the fixture, but he struggled to wear the armband properly.

The centre-back has failed to win over Arsenal fans since joining from Valencia in a £35 million 2016.

There was even a petition for him to receive lifetime imprisonment earlier this year when he was at fault for two goals against Crystal Palace.

'Gene. N' created the Change.Org page and it soon received over 1700 signatures.

The description read: "A man by the name of Shkodran Mustafi has been fooling a football club into paying him over £90,000 for broadcasting very disturbing content hidden in football matches.

"He is single-handedly responsible for millions of dollars of broken appliances like televisions and mobile devices, and there have been some cases of suicides related to him. There MUST be an investigation into the matter. I have been affected massively by this fiasco, and I really couldn't find any other solution."

Do you think Arsenal should stick with Mustafi ahead of the new season, or get rid?
