Manchester United fans were relieved to see Luke Shaw return to full fitness after a horrific leg break robbed him of the majority of last season, following an impressive start to the 2015/16 campaign.
Now though, with Jose Mourinho publicly criticising the full back after a poor display during United's 3-1 defeat at Watford, last month, the United manager is believed to be targeting Benfica's Alex Grimaldo as a potential successor to Shaw at left-back.

United scouts were present as Grimaldo shone against Feirense, yesterday, helping himself to a goal in a 4-0 rout. The Daily Mail are reporting that United are facing stiff competition for the former Barcelona youngster, with Juventus also keen to secure his signature.
Grimaldo, 21, has represented Spain at U16,U17,U19 and U21 level but is yet to make his full international bow. Should Mourinho go ahead and make a move for the young Spaniard, it could deal a substantial blow to Shaw's self confidence and cast his future at Old Trafford into serious doubt.
