Diego Costa's uncertain future at Chelsea could lead to the Spanish striker making a return to La Liga, with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona both registering an interest in the controversial Blues forward.
Before his revival (and subsequent falling out) under Antonio Conte, Costa had been hoping for a return to the Vicente Calderon, with Atleti hoping to bring their former hero back to the Spanish capital, but the Blues board resisted their overtures.
Chelsea could have looked so much different had Roman Abramovich decided against taking over at Stamford Bridge...
Now, though, with Costa unsettled and training alone following his training ground bust up with his Italian manager, reportedly over a mind boggling offer from the Chinese Super League, it is believed Atleti will make another move as Antoine Griezmann is almost certain to join Manchester United this Summer, according to Miguel Delaney in The Independent.

Griezmann, a massive United fan, is believed to be ready for a move to Old Trafford in a £100m deal even if Champions League football isn't on offer for the 2017/18 season, leaving Diego Simeone with a gulf in his strikeforce. A gulf that could easily be erased with the man who once filled it regularly with goals.

However, Atleti are apparently set to face competition for Costa from Barcelona, who are wanting to refresh their forward line with Luis Suarez set to turn 30 (as if that's going to slow him down all of a sudden).

Chelsea have no intention of selling Costa in the January window but are open to offers in the Summer, when they have more time to find a suitable replacement for the Spanish striker.
