Toni Kroos dropped a midfield masterclass as Real Madrid ran out 3-1 winners over Liverpool in the Champions League quarter final first leg last night.
The 31-year-old has been among the best midfielders in the world for a number of years now and he continues to be a classy operator at the highest level.
Vinicius Jr (2) and Marco Asensio grabbed the goals but it was Kroos who completely ran the game at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano.

Always in control, his manipulation of the ball and range of passing was typically wonderful - with his outrageous assist for Vinicius' opener providing a perfect summary of his game.
Sitting deep in midfield, Kroos delivered a spectacular 50-yard pass that cut right through the Liverpool defence and allowed Vinicius to nip in behind before applying the finish.

The Germany international played these types of passes, as well as short and simple ones, all night long, and never looked like he was in a rush any time he collected the ball.
His highlights from the game have been collated together in a compilation by @HMDcomps and it's nearly three minutes of footballing goodness from a midfield maestro.
In total, Kroos completed 75 passes with an accuracy of 91%. 100% of his long balls were accurate while he also played 12 passes in the final third and created four chances - including that sumptuous assist.
Vinicius was the man who benefited from Kroos' next level vision and he waxed lyrical about his teammate after the game.
