Bruno Fernandes managed to remarkably set a record for the Premier League 2020-21 season after he came off the bench in Manchester United's 3-1 comeback win over West Ham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men were placed on the back foot after Tomas Soucek opened the scoring for the Hammers in the first half at the London Stadium.

Fernandes, who has been praised for his impact since his arrival in January, replaced Donny van de Beek in the second half as United turned the tide in their favour.

The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder would pounce on Dean Henderson's clearance and set up Paul Pogba, who slammed home a magnificent 25-yard strike past Lukasz Fabianski.

Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford would add United's second and third respectively to seal a stunning comeback victory for the Red Devils.

However, Fernandes' second-half cameo showed how instrumental he has been for United with a record he has now set for the current campaign.

According to Statman Dave, the former Sporting CP star created eight chances against West Ham.

Fernandes' eight chances make him the only player to create that many chances in a single Premier League match this season.

Statman Dave added in a separate tweet that United have won more points (51) in the Premier League than any other team since the Portugal international made his debut.

The United midfielder has created a whopping 35 chances in the Premier League this season, putting him seven ahead of Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

Fernandes has also created more chances than any other player in Europe's top five leagues, according to Squawka.

United's victory over West Ham has moved them up to fourth place in the league table.

The Red Devils will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Germany for their important Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.
