Paul Pogba's sensational long-range equaliser against West Ham was not disallowed after VAR was surprisingly called into action.

Tomas Soucek stunned Manchester United in the first half after he opened the scoring for the Hammers at the London Stadium.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men rallied back in the second half as the in-form Bruno Fernandes set up Pogba for United's equaliser.

Dean Henderson came charging out of his area and hoofed the ball down the pitch straight to the run of Fernandes.

The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder pulled the ball back to Pogba, who smashed the ball from 25 yards out past a helpless Lukasz Fabianski.

However, VAR sprang into action and reviewed if Henderson's clearance went out of play. Fortunately for United fans, the decision wasn't overturned and Pogba's equaliser stood.

United would take the lead only minutes later through Mason Greenwood, with Marcus Rashford adding the Red Devils' third in the 78th minute.

Speaking after the match, Rashford told Sky Sports: "We need to stop doing that [allowing teams to score first].

"If we keep more clean sheets, we will definitely win more games. It is good that we showed spirit, but ideally, we don't want to be conceding.

"We defended quite well. They have dangerous players on the counter-attacks. We managed to get through it. Once you get to half-time, it is a chance to regroup and we came out refocused.

"Sometimes it is not about what the manager says but what we can see on the pitch. We didn't get around them enough. Nothing threatening to the backline. The team knew what we had to do."

Full-time result: Manchester United completed their sensational comeback with a 3-1 victory over West Ham to seal all three points.

The Red Devils have climbed up to fourth place and are now two points behind Premier League leaders Tottenham.
