Cristiano Ronaldo's "Dr Strange" Reaction To Liverpool Goal Left Some United Fans Very Confused

The Portuguese superstar was caught making some rather erratic arm movements after United conceded yet another goal to Liverpool.

Cristiano Ronaldo was compared to Dr Strange after the Manchester United forward's reaction to one of Liverpool's goals on Sunday was picked up by the cameras.

The hosts were humiliated by Liverpool, losing 5-0 in what was undoubtedly one of the lowest moments of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure.

It also wasn't an especially easy afternoon for Ronaldo, who was carded for kicking out at Curtis Jones, before having a late consolation goal ruled out for offside.

Earlier in the game, in the aftermath of one of Liverpool's four first-half goals, the 36-year-old reacted in the manner of a manager.

Ronaldo could be seen gesturing wildly - as if he was writing on an imaginary tactics board.

However, some United fans on social media thought they saw a hidden meaning behind Ronaldo's animated reaction...

It was a tough afternoon all-round for United, but Solskjaer in particular will bear the brunt of the criticism.

There are huge question marks over his immediate future at the club, and it remains to be seen whether the Norwegian will still be in charge by the time of next weekend's trip to Spurs.

The manager's authority had already been undermined in mid-week when it was reported that Ronaldo had interrupted his half-time team-talk in order to try and personally rally the troops ahead of a big second half against Atalanta.

After three years in the Old Trafford dugout, Sunday's loss to Liverpool may end up being the final nail in the coffin for the 48-year-old.
