VAR Controversially Rules Out Manchester City's Goal Against West Ham In Premier League
VAR has controversially overturned Manchester City's goal against West Ham in the Premier League.
Raheem Sterling was adjudged offside by video review with Mike Dean ruling out City's third goal. The goal has been ruled out by VAR against the England winger's shoulder/arm.
Sterling reacted furiously to the call. "Oh, f**k off," he said after his assist was chalked off.
The VAR situation was nonsense and Sterling's immediate reaction was "oh fuck off!", and understandably so, but City have had the wind taken out of them a bit since. West Ham buoyed slightly. Great Ederson double save there- Sam Lee (@SamLee) August 10, 2019
Naturally, VAR became the talking point of the online football community. Here's some reaction from Twitter:
