Pepe Takes On Group Of Atletico Madrid Players On His Own, Then 'Leads' 42-Man Brawl

FC Porto defender Pepe was at the centre of some hectic scenes during the club's 3-1 defeat against Atletico Madrid. Can you believe it?

It was far from a quiet night at the library inside a heated Estádio do Dragão on Tuesday night.

Atletico forward Yannick Carrasco was sent off in the 67th minute for lashing out and moments later, Angel Correa and Otavio were handed yellow cards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Then this happened...

As you can see in the footage above, former Real Madrid defender Pepe decided to walk into a group of Atletico players and scream in the face of Mario Hermoso before picking up a yellow card for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Three minutes later, Porto's Wendell received his marching orders; a moment that sparked a huge 42-man brawl.

Atletico went on to snatch a last-16 spot in the Champions League thanks to goals from Antoine Griezmann, Angel Correa and Rodrigo De Paul, but these unsavoury scenes grabbed the headlines.

In the same game, Luis Suarez was reduced to tears on the bench after sustaining an injury in the opening stages.

The former Liverpool striker, who has scored seven goals in 12 league games for Atletico Madrid this season, lasted just 13 minutes after picking up a knock in his side's crunch European fixture.

He is now a doubt for their next La Liga game on Sunday against rivals Real Madrid.
