Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar and Brazil legend Ronaldinho both "have everything," but neither of them did "everything to be even higher."

That's according to former PSG and Barcelona winger Ludovic Giuly, who made the bold comparison between Neymar and Ronaldinho.

Speaking to Telefoot, the 44-year-old Frenchman said: "I'm going to compare Ronaldinho and Neymar on a career level.

"They have everything, but they don't give everything to be even higher."

Neymar is considered one of the best players in the world, but the 29-year-old Brazilian winger has been criticised for not reaching the level he was tipped to reach.

The Brazil international recently grabbed the headlines after he lost his temper and was sent off for a challenge on Tiago Djalo in PSG's shock 1-0 defeat to Lille.

Further footage showed that Neymar and Djalo, who was also dismissed, continued their battle off the pitch during a heated altercation in the tunnel.

Neymar has been linked with former club Barcelona amid uncertainty surrounding his future at the Parisian side.

The ex-Barcelona star's current deal with PSG will expire next summer, with recent reports suggesting that Neymar has put talks 'on hold' over a new contract.

Giuly has admitted that he hopes Neymar will stay at PSG, saying that a new deal would show his "love and commitment to the club."

The former France international said: "Of course, that is an important message for us, for his teammates and for the supporters.

"He shows his love and commitment to the club, it is something very important."

Neymar became the most expensive player in football history after PSG splashed out a world-record fee of £200m to sign him from Barcelona in 2017.

The PSG winger has made 105 appearances for the French club and scored 83 times and registered 47 assists.
