There was an incredible moment on Pointless this week when a contestant celebrated winning the jackpot by doing Luca Toni's iconic celebration.

The well-travelled Italian was a pointless answer on the BBC quiz show and ended up securing brothers Dave and Rory the £1,000 prize.

The question was related to FIFA World Cup winners in the 21st century and Spain's Joan Capdevila (2010) and Brazil's Roque (2002) Junior were the options alongside Toni.

And it was Toni, who was part of the Italy squad that triumphed in Germany in 2006, who brought the pointless bar down to zero and led to one of our favourite TV moments in recent memory.

At the exact moment Toni was the pointless answer, older brother Dave gestured to his ear in the same way Toni did after scoring for the likes of Bayern Munich, Roma and Fiorentina.

The superb scenes were followed by host Alexander Armstrong offering a handshake to the winning brotherly pair.

Remarkably, Richard Osman would then reveal that the likes of Gennaro Gattuso, Alessandro Nesta and Simone Perrotta were also pointless answers.

Legendary goalkeeper and former Azzurri skipper Gianluigi Buffon was the biggest scorer.

The celebration was made famous by Toni but it was later adopted by cult hero and the ultimate "streets will never forget" player Michu, who scored 22 goals in his debut season for Swansea City in 2012/13.

Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland idolised the Spaniard growing up and he too has celebrated by cupping his ear, notably doing it after scoring a brilliant brace for Norway in September.
