PlayStation has shared some very useful advice with Mason Greenwood after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer poked fun at him over his late-night gaming sessions.

The 18-year-old Manchester United starlet kept his side's Champions League hopes alive when he pulled back an equaliser against West Ham on Wednesday.

But that didn't stop Solskjaer from hilariously suggesting that he knew if Greenwood had been playing PlayStation depending on his performances in training.

The United boss said: "Mason... you know when he's had a good sleep and when he's stayed up late playing PlayStation because he might not hit the ball as cleanly in training!

"But what he does today, he does that time and time and time again and when we do finishing you seen an exceptional finisher there and are not surprised when it hits the back of the net."

PlayStation UK wasted no time in sending Greenwood, who has scored 10 times in the league this season, a handy trick to remember going forward.

The Twitter account tweeted a screenshot of how PlayStation 4 users can switch their status from 'online' to 'appear offline.'

Solskjaer continued by praising Greenwood for his fantastic finishing ability and added that the England U21 international is "going from strength to strength."

The 47-year-old Norwegian explained: "I've probably run out of superlatives for him because he's that good a finisher.

"He's bailed us out a few times and he's done it again and he's been absolutely top class ever since we gave him an opportunity against Cardiff in the last game of last season -- and he was our best player in that game.

"He's just grown and grown in confidence and belief and he trusts himself that his talents, qualities and attributes actually work at the highest level.

"You expect him to hit the target. The chance in the first-half when [Angelo] Ogbonna blocked it, that's also a very good strike, a fantastic hit of the ball. The kid's going from strength to strength."

Legendary former striker Alan Shearer has backed Greenwood to break his Premier League goalscoring record.

Meanwhile, United hero Dwight Yorke believes that the Red Devils starlet is "better" than Marcus Rashford.

United will play their final Premier League match of the season on Sunday with an away trip to fellow Champions League hopefuls Leicester City.
