Pep Guardiola Sent Raheem Sterling A Supportive Message During Euro 2016

Good Pep talk...

As disastrous as England's entire Euro 2016 was it seemed that personally for Raheem Sterling it was even worse. But what a turnaround the young English winger has had under Pep Guardiola and it's no surprise after the City manager's text.

Sterling went into the tournament in France earlier this summer off the back of an average first season at Manchester City, where by the end of the season he couldn't even start ahead of Jesus Navas, and his tournament was even worse with the nadir coming in his half-time substitution against Wales.

Many wondered what the future held for the former Liverpool player with Pep Guardiola's arrival at the Etihad and the Spaniard's demand for perfection. However the winger has started in incredible fashion this season with two goals and one assist from his opening three goals.

It's no surprise he's really found his feet under Guardiola considering the message that Times writer Henry Winter revealed the new City boss sent his player during the Euros:

It's no wonder with those man management skills that players really want to play for Pep.

Sterling could have been in real danger of falling out of the City team at the beginning of the season, especially with City signing Nolito, and then the national team but his current form makes him undroppable for both.
