Kante was relentless at breaking up Man City's attack, stopping their threat from midfield - producing a vital tackle on Kevin De Bruyne in the second-half.

The diminutive Frenchman also showed off his offensive side, setting up his team's attacks and being a menace on the break.

He delivered yet another 'Man of the Match' display in the Champions League as he enhanced his legacy.

The 30-year-old, who has won pretty much everything in football, will go down in history as one of greatest midfielders to have ever played the beautiful game.

@FDJChief shared Kante's individual highlights from Saturday's showdown and it makes for epic viewing.

Kante's outing in the Champions League final sent social media wild.

One wrote: "One of the best ever. Tonight surpassed even Chelsea's greats (Mikel, Essien, Makelele) if he hadn't already."

A second tweeted: "World's? Probably in the history. He's redefining the role. I can easily see him breaking up Xavi and Iniesta's play. Or absolutely kicking Pirlo or Zidane. His that good."
