His agent Mino Raiola has been in discussion with some of Europe's elite clubs to seal the right deal and it appears the super-agent is on the verge of landing his client an enormous wage package.
However, De Ligt's financial demands haven't gone down well with Christophe Dugarry whose slammed the Netherlands international.
"What is the idea? What is happening in your head? 12, 13, 14 or 15 million euros?
"At some point, what changes? You will have one more car, 50m² more in the apartment, 10 meters more for your boat.
"If it is a purely financial option, I stop, that makes me want to throw up.
"De Ligt, he's excellent, he's very good, but with a mentality like that, it will not last, it's not possible.
"I congratulate the president (PSG), congratulate Leonardo, congratulate those who take the decisions.
"I'm tired of this new football. But De Ligt, at one time or another, commit yourself to a project with PSG.
"Even you have started not to commit to this project and to think of two doors ( the entrance and the exit)."
Maurizio Sarri's Juventus are also keen on signing free agent Adrien Rabiot while former player Gianluigi Buffon is set to rejoin the club following his release from Paris Saint-Germain.
