After touching down, he issued a short message to Juventus fans: "Hello Bianconeri, this is Matthijs, I'm really happy to be here."
The young defender is set to undergo a medical on Wednesday before completing his move from Ajax.

Juventus have fended off intense competition to snap up De Ligt. Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Bayern Munich all expressed an interest in signing the Dutch phenom.

Once his transfer to Juventus is complete, De Ligt will earn a whopping £270,000-a-week with add-ons increasing his possible earnings to a mega £415,000-a-week, after agreeing a five-year contract.
The Serie A champions have also agreed to a release clause of around €150 million (£134 million) for the 19-year-old.
De Ligt enjoyed a breakout campaign last season as Ajax won the Eredivisie and reached the Champions League semi-final in a stunning European campaign.
They knocked out Real Madrid and Juventus before being eliminated by Tottenham.
