Marcus Rashford Named 'Most Overrated Player In The Premier League' In Twitter Thread
A football fan named Marcus Rashford as "the most overrated player in the Premier League" in a viral Twitter thread.
Twitter user @ballrespect composed a 12-tweet thread detailing why the Manchester United talisman is not as good as many deem him to be and the series of tweets garnered a lot of steam.
The whole thread is based around Rashford's goal tally, comparing his numbers to other strikers to support his claim that the 22-year old is overrated.
Rashford's best goalscoring campaign has been in the current season where he hit 14 goals in the Premier League before injury struck.
But with five of those coming from the penalty shot, the fan feels it's not all that impressive and adds that his goal contributions in his career so far are not good enough for someone viewed as being world-class.
He makes a point of stating that Kylian Mbappe has netted more goals in the last two campaigns than Rashford has in his entire career, while noting that Arsenal flop Gervinho has more goals in both the Champions League and Europa League than United's number ten.

In terms of the Premier League, Bournemouth striker Josh King has more goals than Rashford in the last four full seasons and that's another stat that the Twitter user deploys to support his anti-Rashford agenda.
The penultimate point is that his record for the England national team is not up to scratch, and that he shouldn't be starting in the Euros, before the final summary declares Rashford is an "average player" who will end up playing for Barnsley.
While some decent arguments are put forward, you can't help but feel the fan is clutching at straws big-time and just looking for bait. The fact his account no longer appears to exist is also particularly telling.
Is Rashford overrated or is the whole thread nonsense?
