On the day that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed a new contract, Manchester United lost 4-2 to Championship side QPR.
The Red Devils played their second pre-season friendly after beating Derby County on Sunday and it looked like their preparations for the new season would continue in the same way when the returning Jesse Lingard put United ahead three minutes in.
But Charlie Austin levelled matters minutes later and then the Rs scored three goals in quick succession in the early exchanges of the second half.
Scotland international Lyndon Dykes bagged a brace either side of a strike from Moses Odubajo as QPR went goal-crazy at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
Youngster Anthony Elanga reduced the deficit in the 73rd minute for a United side missing a chunk of their big guns.
But even for a pre-season game, this was a shock result and one that unsurprisingly led to a lot of reaction on social media:
A day after United finally confirmed the capture of Jadon Sancho for £73 million, the club announced Solskjaer had put pen to paper on a new three-year deal.
