Luis Suarez Hilariously Appealed For Handball Against Chile Goalkeeper In The Area

Luis Suarez hilariously appealed for a penalty when the goalkeeper handled the ball last night.

The 32-year old left viewers in stitches during Uruguay's Copa America Group C win over Chile.

In the 22nd minute, as Suarez attempted to cut the ball back to strike partner Edinson Cavani, La Roja's No.1 Gabriel Arias intervened excellently with his hand.

The ball went out for a corner but Suarez wanted more than that. Straight away the former Liverpool star slapped his hand and called for a penalty before remembering the age-old law that goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands in their box.

It really is the most Luis Suarez thing ever. Only he would appeal for a handball in this instance.

It's not something new from Suarez either. Last season, he excitedly joined in appeals for handball during the game between Barcelona and Real Betis - not realising it was the home fans appealing against his teammate Nelson Semedo.

Last night, Suarez's Uruguay emerged 1-0 victors in their final Copa America group game courtesy of Edinson Cavani's late header.

The Barcelona forward also frantically appealed for a card when Gonzalo Jara tripped up a pitch invader.

Oscar Tabarez's side will now take on Peru in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
