Cristiano Ronaldo motivating his Juventus teammates moments before the second-half sums up his elite-level mentality.

With his side one-up on the night and trailing on aggregate, Ronaldo brilliantly lifted his teammates in the tunnel.

He embraced each of his teammates, hollering words of encouragement before having a brief chat with match referee Björn Kuipers.

Four minutes later, Juventus went two-up thus leveling the tie thanks to the man himself.

Ronaldo then completed the dramatic turnaround in the 86th minute by coolly converting a penalty to send his side into the Champions League quarter-finals.

What's more, Ronaldo predicted his goal-scoring heroics. He told people close to him that he'd score a hat-trick against Atletico Madrid.

By fulfilling his prophecy, Ronaldo continued to enhance his Champions League legacy. He also became the very first player in history to score 125 UEFA club competitions goals.

He now has 63 knockout goals in the Champions League, and is tied with Lionel Messi for most hat-tricks in the competition.

BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand, who played alongside Ronaldo at Manchester United, hailed his performance after full-time.

"He's a living football god. It's ridiculous what he's doing," he said.

"All the records - in the Champions League, he's got every record you can imagine. He's joint most hat-tricks with Messi.

"This goal (first goal) is like Duncan Ferguson in his prime, attacking the ball, leaving the full back in a heap, that's what you call desire."

Ronaldo's won the coveted Champions League with both Manchester United and Real Madrid, will he steer his new side Juventus to European glory this season?
