Kalidou Koulibaly says Manchester City are one of only three clubs that could convince him to leave Napoli.

The 30-year-old reportedly made the claim to journalist Valter De Maggio, and said that he would never betray the Napoli fans by making the move to another Italian club.

The Senegal international confirmed to De Maggio that he would never consider joining Juventus, but included Man City alongside two of Europe's biggest clubs as his next possible destinations.

"Koulibaly answered me like this: 'Me at Juventus? Are you crazy?! I would never go and play for another Italian club," as reported by Area Napoli in quotes published by Sport Witness.

"If I decided to leave Napoli, I would only do it for two, maximum three clubs in the world. I'm talking about [Pep] Guardiola's Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona at the most.

"But believe me: I would never go to Juventus: I could not betray the Napoli fans'. From these words, you can understand the value of the man Koulibaly."

Koulibaly has made a total of 13 appearances across all competitions for Luciano Spalletti's side this season, scoring 2 goals.

In total, he has made a total of 296 appearances and scored 13 goals since arriving from Genk in July 2014 at the time of writing, winning both the Italian Cup and Italian Super Cup.

Any deal to prise the defender away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium will not be cheap, with Koulibaly currently valued at £43.2million according to transfermarkt.

But his contract expires in June 2023, meaning Napoli may want to strike a deal before potentially having to let Koulibaly leave for free the following summer.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the highly-rated defender.
