Jon Jones Responds After Nate Diaz Brings Up Steroid Use

Jones and Diaz may be in different divisions, but they've been going back and forth online...

Jon Jones has hit back at Nate Diaz after the Stockton Slugger made remarks about steroid use.

Jones started the mini-spat on social media by taking to Instagram to dismiss Diaz's claims that he is the "the pound-for-pound baddest mother f*cker in MMA history" and a "real GOAT".

The UFC light heavyweight champ posted a picture of the quote with the caption: "Now this guy's the GOAT? This is just starting to get ridiculous."

Diaz then took things up a notch when he said no one would remember Jones' fights - accompanied by a needle emoji that was a blatant reference to Jones' past failed drug tests.

And 'Bones' was obviously not overly impressed by the comments. In a tweet since deleted by the 32-year-old, he wrote: "Oh the dumb things we say when we're stoned, stop Nate".

The whole back and forth between UFC stars has come about after Conor McGregor compiled a list of 'MMA GOATs' in a controversial Twitter thread.

McGregor originally had the legendary Anderson Silva as his number one but then stated that PED results drop 'The Spider' from the top spot and so McGregor himself claimed to be the "clear current No.1 MMA GOAT."

Jones was placed in fourth or "maybe tied 3" by McGregor, who says he has produced "multiple lacklustre decision performances" and accused him of playing it safe in his career.

He initially said he would let the fans do the debating for him but then reacted by wondering how he'd gone from beefing with heavyweight monster Francis Ngannou to McGregor - and then posted a graphic which showed he has the most wins in UFC title bouts.
