The main talking point of Roy Hodgson's England squad selection for Euro 2016 is that Manchester United prodigy Marcus Rashford has made the initial 26 man squad and will be given the chance to prove his credentials during the Three Lions' pre-tournament friendlies against Turkey, Australia and Portugal.
It has been presumed that Rashford will likely be one of the three players who doesn't make the cut for the final 23 who eventually head to France for the European Championships, but given the teenager's form since debuting for United in March, there's no reason he can't prove himself worthy of a place on the plane to France in June.
Rashford, who has seven goals in 16 matches for United, has raised a few eyebrows with his selection as he has been preferred to veteran hitman Jermain Defoe, whose 15 Premier League goals helped save Sunderland from relegation, this term. Explaining his decision to gamble on Rashford, Hodgson said:

"He is one of the contenders [to make the final 23 man squad], of course
"The competitions is quite strong, he'll understand that. He deserves to be selected in this larger squad. It'll be interesting to see what he can do, it may only be for a week, but I am pleased that he has had such a good end to the season."
"It's great to be able to include him. There's no reason why he can't knock someone off their perch, but it will be harder than some people might expect.

"We've had good feedback from Man United on him. Marcus has done brilliantly at Manchester United. He deserves this chance."
