Marcus Rashford has 'responded' to criticism from Roy Keane following his goal celebration against Tottenham.

Rashford scored Manchester United's second goal in their 2-2 draw against Spurs at Old Trafford on Sunday.

He linked up brilliantly with Rasmus Hojlund to find the bottom corner as he netted his first home goal since May 2023.

The 26-year-old wheeled away in celebration and appeared to gesture to his critics, suggesting they talk too much.

Rashford's celebration, however, was slammed by Keane, who took aim at the Man United star.

On Sky Sports, he said: "We need to see more of this [Rashford’s overall performance], because he’s shown it before, he’s got the quality.

"Why does he seem to be upset with everybody?"

Keane added: "He simplified his game [today]. He’s obviously been told by his manager, the coaching staff that when we are in possession, in space, you’ve got to run in this game.

"You’ve got to stretch teams and when Marcus is doing that it’s very hard to stop."

A fan, though, claims Rashford's celebration was in reference to receiving abuse for commenting on Jadon Sancho's post.

An X user wrote: "He's clearly referring to the abuse he's been subjected to this week since he commented on Sancho's post. They literally questioned his loyalty and commitment to us, and he did shut them up by scoring AND assisting. If he didn't score, he's shite, if he does it's this BS smh."

To which Rashford replied: "Thank you for clarifying this matter."

His strike against Spurs is only his fourth league goal of the season, having enjoyed a prolific campaign last season.

He bagged 17 league goals last season - equalling his best goal-scoring season.

But he's found goals hard to come by this season, with just four goals to his name.

Rashford and Co. now have a winter break ahead of returning to action on January 28 in a FA Cup clash against either Newport County or Eastleigh.
