Ross Barkley fired in a stunning 25-yard free-kick to pull Chelsea level with Reading at the Madejski Stadium.
Frank Lampard's side went behind in the 13th minute as Josh Barrett, 21, lobbed Willy Caballero after his initial effort was denied by the Chelsea shot-stopper.
But Barkley, 25, stepped up in the 22nd minute and left Joao Manuel Neves Virginia with little chance of stopping his peach of a strike, which curled into the top-left corner of the net.
And Blues fans have flocked to Twitter to praise the former Everton midfielder's stunning strike.
Chelsea were handed a 2-1 lead
going into half-time after Kenedy's superb strike from outside of the box beat Virginia.
Barkley's fantastic form on pre-season
tour showed in the Blues' clash with Barcelona as the Chelsea player scored from
a 20-yard free-kick in their 2-1 win.
