He may have appeared on more FIFA covers than anyone else, but Wayne Rooney's decline in quality over the years on the EA Sports franchise is pretty heart breaking.
Rooney, who was benched for Manchester United's 4-1 victory over Premier League champions Leicester, on Saturday, will no doubt have noticed how much more fluid and threatening United looked without him in their starting XI. And even in the virtual world, the United and England captain is being passed by.
Between FIFA 10-13, Rooney was one of the game's finest players, with overall stats of between 88-90. By FIFA 14, the former Everton man was down to 87, then to 86 for the next two years before finally landing at 84 for this year's FIFA 17 release.

Given Rooney's advancing years and lack of a guarantee as a first team starter from now on, it's safe to assume that this downward trend will continue over the next few years for EA's former golden boy.
