There's nothing worse
than experiencing never-ending lag when playing on FIFA online.
For instance, with the process of button pressing into animation slowed down, it takes about an hour for the through ball you attempted to actually be delivered, and then it's easily intercepted by the opposition defender.
Basically, your players start doing the exact opposite what you want them to do and it's really, really frustrating. It is an excuse but it's a valid one.
But, what if you cannot pin your humbling defeats on the lag? As noted by Joe.co.uk, your TV settings could actually be a huge factor in the speed of your gameplay.
Apparently, switching to the gaming preset mode by going into "picture" and "settings" can reduce input lag by up to 50 per cent, which is a huge difference.

Turning off "motion blur control" and "noise reduction" is also said to be a key part of the lag-reducing process, as is checking your console's signal in settings.
It's all very technical but it's said you need to find out whether your TV is receiving an interlaced or progressive signal.

Here is the all-time FIFA XI on games through the years...
Progressive, which is 1080p, is the one you're looking for. It should cut out that annoying lag to a greater extent and allow your game to flow better. You might already have the aforementioned settings in place already but it's worth checking, especially if you've recently got a new TV.
We're not saying it's going to turn you into the best FIFA player in the world but it may be worth a go.
Another little FIFA 18 tip comes from YouTuber 'Inception Xx', who gave a pretty handy free-kick tutorial back in September when the game was released.
It's not a tactic where you shoot straight from the free-kick, instead you are looking at creating a goalscoring opportunity with a clever routine.

You won't really be able to pull off the tactic from long distances; it's tailored to situations around the 18-yard box where you've got a clear sight of goal.
While it's not the most simple tactic in the world and will probably take you some practicing to get it right, there is evidence that when done properly, it works.
