Likely still reeling from the Toffees' fourth defeat in five games after their 1-0 loss to Leeds United on Saturday, Richarlison took to social media to reply to Carragher's dig.
The Sky Sports commentator had been diving into his mentions on Twitter to criticise an Everton fan who had accused him of being biased while criticising Richarlison - having played alongside Luis Suarez in his career and not complained.
Carragher also recently praised Tottenham's Harry Kane for going to ground easily, on Sky's Monday Night Football.
MNF analysis of @SpursOfficial Harry Kane being street wise! If he was doing it for your team you'd love it!! #Spurs #PremierLeague

The former Anfield favourite defended himself on Twitter from the accusations of bias against Liverpool's local rivals, writing: "Talking about Richarlison going down is nothing to do with bias. Every EFC game I do he goes down 3/4 times like he's got a big injury then just gets up! It's not about getting a penalty or a foul but pretending he's hurt when he's not."
Richarlison appeared to have been riled by this, replying with a gif of himself shushing the crowd after scoring.
Wasn't really on about the game to be fair Jamie... https://t.co/UnhnQVw1yx

The Brazil international may be right to be annoyed at being singled out, having been one of Everton's best performers this season.
He missed three of their four defeats after receiving a red card in the Merseyside Derby, and has scored four goals in nine appearances this season.
Fans had noticed during the Leeds defeat that that Carragher might be picking on Richarlison more often than he does for other players and tried to defend him.
"Richarlison goes down more than any player I've ever seen," says Jamie Carragher who spent three full years playing in the same team as Luiz Suarez.

Lol at Carragher complaining about Richarlison on the ground when I saw him do a whole segment on Kane being "streetwise" for doing the same

Carragher has "never seen a lad go down more" than Richarlison. Weird, he must never have watched Gerrard or Suarez play when he played in the same team as them for years

I hope Richarlison scores then does a dive/roll in front of the commentary gantry where Carragher is, like Suarez did in front of Moyes after Moyes called him a diver years ago.

Jamie Carragher doing his best to earn some points with Liverpool fans with a couple of early jibes at Richarlison.

Was he being fair? Yes or no, Richarlison's reply at least brightened one Toffee's day:
Richarlison giving it to Jamie Carragher is all i needed to keep going with my day https://t.co/RHkl7cllVG
