Fans have been voting on who is the best team in the Premier League, with the current Liverpool side coming out on top.

Having won every game in the league apart from one draw Jurgen Klopp's Reds are 16 points clear at the top of the table with a game in a hand and well on course to break all sorts of records en route to their first league title for 30 years.

And the Anfield outfit out have come on top in a fan vote Sky Sports put out to settle one of the big footballing debates.

Despite not actually having their hands on the trophy even though it's pretty inevitable they will do so, Liverpool took 36.4% of the 307,152 votes cast.

Manchester United's treble-winning season of 1999 came second with 33.2%, with Arsenal's 'Invincibles' from 2003/04 finishing in third on 20.7%.

Manchester City are responsible for the highest ever Premier League points tally when they garnered exactly 100 points in 2017/18 under Pep Guardiola but the 'Centurions' only managed a lowly 9.7% in the voting.

There's no denying that what this undefeated Liverpool side are doing is special but it's probably best to wait until they actually win the league before they are being talked about as the best team ever to grace the league.

Liverpool fans were loudly singing "we're gonna win the league" during the 2-0 win over Manchester United and while Klopp is fine with it, he insists his players won't be getting caught up in the hype.

"They can sing that," the German said after the game.

"I am not here to dictate what they sing. If our fans were not in a good mood now, that would be really strange.

"Of course, they are allowed to dream and sing whatever they want and, as long as they do their job in the moment we play, all fine.

"But we will not be part of that party yet."
