Arsenal And Tottenham Target Called 'Best Striker In Europe For His Age' After Erling Haaland
Christian Vieri has hailed Arsenal and Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic as the "best striker in Europe for his age" after Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Vlahovic, 21, has been with Serie A side Fiorentina after he was snapped up from Serbian outfit Partizan for a reported £1.76m fee in 2018.
The Serbian striker made 40 appearances for Fiorentina last season and scored 21 times across all competitions.
Vlahovic's impressive form led to his international debut with Serbia in 2020, with Fiorentina valuing him at around £52m.
The Fiorentina starlet has been linked with Premier League clubs Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool.
Vieri has now praised Vlahovic as a "top striker" and backed him to maintain his fine goalscoring form next season.
The 48-year-old former Inter Milan player made a bold claim that Vlahovic is the best striker in Europe for his age after Haaland.
Vieri told Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia): "Vlahovic, after Haaland, is the best striker in Europe for his age.
"He is a top striker and will score 20 goals easily next season."
According to Football Italia, Vlahovic is 'in talks' with his current club over a contract extension.
Fiorentina are keen to fend off interest from Premier League clubs and the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and Sevilla by tying Vlahovic down to a new deal.
Vlahovic, whose current deal expires in 2023, would reportedly have a €70m release clause included in his new contract.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his attacking options this summer in a desperate bid to secure Champions League football for the Gunners.
The Gunners have been linked with a sensational move for Inter star Lautaro Martinez, but they face tough competition to land the 23-year-old Argentine striker.
Tottenham are also in the market for a striker amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Harry Kane, who has been heavily linked with Manchester City.
