Diego Costa's First Month Back At Atletico Madrid Has Been Suitably Chaotic

Would you have expected any less from him?

It's safe to say that Diego Costa has been making up for lost time, since he took to the pitch for his second Atletico Madrid debut, last month.

The former Chelsea striker re-signed for Los Rojiblancos, last summer after three seasons at Stamford Bridge, but due to Atleti's UEFA sanctioned transfer ban, he was not eligible to turn out for Diego Simeone's team until the new year.

Since then, everything has gone well and truly fucking apeshit.

The 29-year-old scored just five minutes into his debut, after coming off the bench to replace Angel Correa during a Copa Del Rey tie against Lleida Esportiu, last month.

During his next appearance, Costa scored again and then promptly received his marching orders, after picking up a second yellow card for steaming into the home crowd to celebrate his effort, during a La Liga clash with Getafe.

And now, the Spain international has been named Atletico's Player of The Month for January. Just a quiet 31 days back at the office, then.

In fact, Costa's stats for January are suitably chaotic.

Costa fired Chelsea to two Premier League titles in three seasons, during his time at Stamford Bridge, before a falling out last year with manager Antonio Conte led to his sale during the summer transfer window.

Are the Premier League champions living to regret their manager's decision to sell the 29-year-old?
