David Silva Set To Join Inter Miami FC In The Summer
David Silva is poised to become the face of David Beckham's MLS expansion club Inter Miami.
The Spaniard is widely expected to end his glittering nine-year stint at Manchester City at the end of the current campaign and it was thought that he would head back to his native Gran Canaria with Las Palmas.
However, a fresh update from Tony Evans of The Independent claims that Silva is expected to move to the MLS - with Beckham keen on acquiring a high-profile Spanish speaking player.
Silva, a four-time Premier League winner with World Cup and European Championship medals in his collection, fits the bill perfectly and would be the icing on the cake as far as Inter targeting the large Hispanic market in Miami.
Their signings so far include Argentines Matias Pellegrini and Julian Carranza and Venezuelan defensive midfielder Christian Makoun.
Beckham, who announced 2014 that he intended to buy an MLS franchise courtesy of a clause in his LA Galaxy deal, is showing plenty of ambition in regards to possible incomings.
The England legend apparently put a four-year offer and a sizeable salary on the table for Barcelona star Luis Suarez, while Inter have also been linked with five-time Ballon d'Or winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.
"Everyone has their wish list - everyone does!" Beckham told a group of reporters in March, via GOAL.
"But if you look at the way Leo and Cristiano are still playing, even at what you might think is the later stage of their careers, I don't see it ending for them.
"They're playing at such a high level that it's hard to see them leaving the clubs they are at. But we will see. You never know what can happen in football."
A £24 million signing from Valencia back in 2010, Silva will go down as one of the all-time Premier League players and quite possibly the best Spanish player ever to play in the English top flight.
