Gary Lineker has claimed that Lionel Messi is set to be in a front three potentially including the best players in the world, ruling Cristiano Ronaldo out of the equation.

Messi arrived in Paris on Tuesday afternoon as his move to PSG took massive leaps forward in becoming official, with the club even producing a teaser video.

Before the club could make any sort of official announcement it was actually Neymar who posted on his social media that it was happening.

The Brazilian is clearly ready to welcome his former Barcelona teammate, having previously said he wanted to play alongside the 34-year-old again.

Along with the South American pair, Mauricio Pochettino is set to be able to name a front three of Neymar, Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

On Twitter, Lineker, the ultimate Messi stan, theorised that the front three could be made up of the three best in the world.

Of course, there's no doubt that Ronaldo will be in complete disagreement with the former Tottenham Hotspur striker's theory.

At 36-years-old, the Juventus forward is far from done, especially having finished as Serie A's top scorer last season, but Messi does have two years on his rival so it's a possibility that the trio could all soon overtake the former Real Madrid man.

As Lineker says, it is dependent on Mbappe staying in the French capital, with the World Cup winner reportedly wanting a move.

According to reports, the France striker want to be the main man at the Parc des Princes and, having established himself in the role over Neymar, he now wants to leave to avoid being overshadowed by Messi.

Ironically it might have been Ronaldo that Mbappe had to share the limelight with, as the former Manchester United forward was linked with a move to Parc des Princes a while before his rival.

According to the reports, the five time Ballon d'Or winner wanted either a return to the Bernabeu or to go to PSG, after having enough of life in Italy.

If Mbappe does stay this summer then we'll get at least one year of the incredible trio upfront.

Chances are it will be broken up in a year's time though, with the former Monaco man having just one year left on his deal.
