Paris Saint-Germain’s top shirt seller is not Kylian Mbappe, it has been claimed.

The summer departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar from PSG have had a significant impact on the French giants off the pitch.

As per L’Equipe during Messi’s two-year spell at the Parc des Princes, PSG’s Instagram following grew by 20 million.

But since the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s departure, the Ligue 1 champions’ following on the social media platform has decreased by 10 million to 15 million followers.

Moreover, the publication claimed several PSG sponsors, including Crypto.com, are questioning their partnership with the French capital club following the departures of the star-studded pair, while other partners have been slow to pay their sponsorship payments.

Their respective departures have also seen ticket resales at the Parc des Princes take a dramatic hit.

Indeed, tickets that have been on sale for three weeks for PSG’s upcoming match against Strasbourg are still yet to sell out.

Of course, Messi and Neymar’s exit left a star vacuum at PSG that Mbappe has seamlessly occupied on the pitch, with the attacker having netted eights goals in nine games across all competitions this term.

Nevertheless, the France skipper, one of the world’s most recognisable athletes, is not the player at PSG that has shifted the most shirts.

According to French journalist Abdellah Boulma, the most popular PSG player when it comes to selling shirts is Lee Kang-in, with Mbappe “slightly” behind the South Korea international.

Lee only joined PSG this summer from Mallorca, for a fee in the region of £19million.
