He said: "We really wanted to have a dog, and he was named after my friend, John Stones, because we're very close and I always said to him that one day if I had a dog, I would call him 'John'.

"It's actually a great name. We love it and Ines [Silva's partner] agrees with it. I think it suits him; he's a beautiful boy and is very intelligent."
Silva and Ines are filmed taking a walk around the streets of Manchester, and the 27-year-old gives a fascinating insight into life at the club.
He talks about a range of topics, including his relationship with compatriot Joao Cancelo, and how he always makes a coffee for himself and Riyad Mahrez an hour before each game.
Silva has enjoyed another fine season for City, after scoring seven goals and registering two assists in 20 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Since arriving at the club from Monaco in July 2017, he has won three Premier League titles, four League Cups, one FA Cup, and two Community Shields.
Silva and Man City are next in action on Saturday when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium.
