Martial was named 'Man of the Match' as Manchester United beat cross-town rivals City 2-0 to end their winning streak on Sunday.
He wreaked havoc and was a constant threat, winning a penalty in the opening minute after a mazy run inside City's box.
Bruno Fernandes tucked away the penalty with the Frenchman United's main source of attack as he led the line expertly at the Etihad.

The 25-year-old held the ball nicely, bringing his teammates into action and even skinned Ruben Dias with his silky footwork.
He was unable to cap his performance with a goal, but his performance was appreciated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United fans on social media.
Such a good performance today, makes the dropped points so much more frustrating but good to see nevertheless.
Solskjaer Masterclass.
Martial MOTM. Shame he didn't take his chance but such a mature performance leading the line.
Shaw, class again.

Thoughts on 2-0 with vs City:
- Shaw is the best left back in the league and there's nobody close this season
- Martial's best performance this season
- Henderson needs to remain our no.1
- James played very good again
- AWB pockets Sterling yet again

I know he didn't score, but if Anthony Martial doesn't play that game, then Man Utd don't win. Was superb from the first minute to the minute that he was taken off. That's the best I've seen him play in a long, long time. He was 100% my MOTM.

On his No.9, the United boss said: "Anthony Martial was man of the match and he was an even bigger doubt than Luke [Shaw].
"That was the Anthony we know, strong positive and taking players on. Delighted for him."
He added: "That was the Martial of old. Until two hours before warm-up I wasn't sure if he'd play.
"Today he rediscovered himself. He was really strong on the ball and very positive."
United's victory over City improves their tally to 54 points as they move back to second place ahead of third-placed Leicester City.
