A Liverpool superfan was sent an incredible gift by Reds' boss Jurgen Klopp to celebrate his 104th birthday.

Bernard Sheridan has watched his beloved Liverpool play since 1923 and was overjoyed to receive a signed letter from Klopp - as well as a personalised shirt, tickets to this weekend's game against Crystal Palace and a birthday cake.

In the letter, Jurgen said: "Dear Bernard, I would like to personally wish you a very happy 104th birthday.

"I hope you enjoy celebrating with your family and friends. Thank you for your continued support of Liverpool Football Club.

"You'll Never Walk Alone."

Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Bernard said: "I've been a proud Liverpool supporter since I was a boy and have supported the club through thick and thin, so I am absolutely thrilled to be off to the match on Saturday.

"Obviously the icing on the cake will be when we beat Crystal Palace."

And of course, Bernard won't be celebrating the occasion alone at Anfield this weekend. His seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren will be there to cheer on the Reds, along with his sons, with one of those coming all the way from Canada.

His Liverpool fanaticism has been handed down to them since Bernard's love for the club blossomed after he first visited the famous Merseyside stadium with his uncle when he was just eight-years-old.

The superfan is renowned for his passion towards his team.

Linda Johnson, home manager of The Tithebarn, where Bernard lives, said: "Bernard is well known at our Home for his love of Liverpool.

"He keeps up-to-date with every game.

"He's such a wonderful gentleman and we're delighted the club has come up trumps for him."

Liverpool host Crystal Palace at Anfield this Saturday at 3pm.
