Mohamed Salah wasted no time in reacting to Liverpool failing to secure Champions League football for next season.

Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-1 to secure a top-four finish, which confirms their spot in next season's Champions League campaign.

They'll join Premier League champions Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United in Europe's premier competition.

Liverpool won't be in the Champions League next season, leaving Salah 'totally devastated' as he shared an emotional post on social media.

Reacting to Liverpool not landing Champions League football, he tweeted: "I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed.

"We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down."

Salah's heartfelt message on social media got fans online talking as Liverpool fans praised his mentality while rival fans mocked his post.

A second added: "19 goals, 11 assists in the Premier League. You did your best."

A fourth mocked the Liverpool star, tweeting: "Bro had this in the drafts and waited until the final whistle of the united game to tweet this."
