Fans raise huge concern after Man United agree fee for Mason Mount

Fans raise huge concern after Man United agree fee for Mason Mount

Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea

Manchester United fans have been reacting to the news that a fee has been agreed with Chelsea for the transfer of Mason Mount.

Over the last few weeks, United have been in negotiations with Chelsea regarding the future of Mount.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since it was reported that he will not sign a new deal with the Stamford Bridge club.

On Thursday afternoon, it was reported that United have agreed a deal in the region of £60 million for the England international.

Now, Mount is expected to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the deal.

However, despite being happy to see their club bring in a new player, some United fans have asked why they aren’t prioritising signing a new striker.

One fan said: “We played last season with bloody Weghorst and Martial up front, and ETH is prioritizing CM and GK before a striker. This is just madness.”

Another commented: “Osimhen is the answer we need, it's so obvious. Why spend money on Mount and Onana?”

A third fan added: “It’s concerning without question. Even more concerning to me is the fact we really haven’t been linked to that many strikers to begin with.”

Someone else wrote: “I'm very worried. Because all it takes is one injury to Rashford and we are screwed because we cannot count on Martial realistically. And Wout is most likely gone.”

Whilst a fifth added: “Our defence and midfield is solid as a rock. I don't understand why we are not prioritising a STRIKER.”

United have been linked with multiple strikers over the last few months.

The likes of Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Randal Kolo-Muani and Goncalo Ramos are all reportedly on Erik ten Hag’s radar.

However, United have yet to make it move for any of the strikers mentioned despite it being well-documented that Ten Hag wants to strengthen his attacking options.

Which striker should United go for? Let us know in the comments.
