Manchester United plan to put five players on the transfer list ahead of the summer window, according to reports, with manager Erik ten Hag said to be preparing a clearout.

Ten Hag completed major business in the previous summer window, with Antony, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez arriving at the club for a combined fee in excess of £150 million.

The Dutchman also allowed a number of players to leave on loan or on permanent deals.

A number of the loan deals involved established United players, with their futures at Old Trafford appearing uncertain as a result.

Meanwhile, several players will see their contracts expire this summer, including Phil Jones and David de Gea. However, United are negotiating with De Gea over a fresh deal.

A new report from the Manchester Evening News claims that, out of those players contracted to the club for next season, Ten Hag will look to move five names on.

Man Utd 'to transfer list five players'

One of the players who United are willing to allow to leave is said to be Alex Telles, who is currently on loan at La Liga side Sevilla.

The Brazilian is set to face Ten Hag's side when the two clubs face off in the Europa League quarter-final, with UEFA regulations stating that loanees can play against their parent clubs in the competition.

The clash will give the 29-year-old another chance to impress the Dutchman ahead of a possible Old Trafford return next season.

But the same report claims that United will put Telles up for transfer at the end of the season - a year on from a training ground bust-up with team-mate Hannibal Mejbri after a 4-0 defeat to Brighton.

The incident occurred before Ten Hag officially became the club's manager, although the Daily Mirror claimed that interim boss Ralf Rangnick, who was upset by the clash, elected to end the training session early.

Both players are currently out on loan, with Hannibal impressing at Championship side Birmingham City, who also have ex-United starlet Tahith Chong on their books.

Furthermore, the MEN claim that United will listen to offers for Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams and Anthony Martial, whilst defender Eric Bailly will also be listed if he does not reach an appearance milestone that would trigger a permanent move to current loan club Marseille.
