Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has dropped an interesting hint on his future amid reports linking him with a move to Man Utd.

Pavard has been with the German giants since 2019 - a year after rising to prominence with his performances in France's World Cup-winning side of 2018.

Naturally a centre-back, the defender featured at right-back throughout that run, and it is a role he has taken up at Bayern as well.

This season, he has continued on the right side of defence, although has faced competition from new signing Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax.

Sky Sports Germany reported last month that Pavard was unhappy with his current situation at the Bundesliga champions, namely being left out of the starting XI for matches against Barcelona and Mainz.

And he has reportedly caught the attention of Erik ten Hag's Red Devils, who are on the search for a right-sided defender to provide competition for Diogo Dalot.

Given Pavard's latest comments, Ten Hag may well have been handed a major boost in that particular pursuit.

Benjamin Pavard drops hint on future

Pavard's current contract expires in the summer of 2024, and the Frenchman has revealed that there have yet to be talks over an extension.

As a result, Bayern may choose to cash in on the defender - with United potentially keeping a very close eye on proceedings.

Pavard told L'Equipe (quotes via Daily Mirror): "No, there were no specific discussions [on new contract]. For now, I'm focused on the World Cup, on being the best I can be at a very big club, one of the best in the world.

"I have immense respect for Bayern. I learned there the requirement of a very high level, and it is an honour to wear this shirt.

"Afterwards, I have been in Germany for seven years. I have won everything with the club.

"I'm not against discovering a new project. Maybe now is the time. Why not discover a new country, a new culture? But the sports project must be interesting."

With the 24-year-old yet to ply his trade in England, now could be the perfect time for a move to Man Utd - if they place an acceptable bid for his services in the upcoming transfer window.
