Manchester United have been told to sign Sergino Dest by fellow American Freddy Adu.

Dest has been linked to United in previous transfer windows, however, a move has never come to fruition.

The Barcelona right-back is currently on loan at Italian giants AC Milan and reportedly held talks with United on transfer deadline day in August, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Despite making just one Serie A start for Milan this season, Adu still believes it would be a "great signing" for Ten Hag's Man United.

"He'd be great for Man U"

“I think he’d be a great signing for Man U – the way he plays, he’s so good in his position and with the current state of Manchester United right now, they need as many good players as they can get," Adu said speaking to Offers.Bet.

Erik ten Hag has previously said he is very happy with current United right-back, Diogo Dalot, but admits the club needs "two good right-backs" due to the congested fixture list.

Ten Hag said: “I’m really happy with the development of Diogo [Dalot].” The Dutchman revealed. "In possession he's really good, he has the breath to go up and down so the development is really good.

"But I have to mention a club as Manchester United need two good full-backs because we have a lot of games to cover."
