Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United.

The Portuguese star has had a fantastic World Cup so far for his national side and Spanish outlet, Record, have reported that the European champions are "watching him closely" in Qatar.

Fernandes was brought to Old Trafford by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in January 2020 and has contributed the most goals and assists in that time frame.

Back in April earlier this year, Fernandes signed a new contract keeping him at United until 2026 with the option of extending for a further year.

"There is so much more I want to achieve here"

The report suggests Fernandes would not be willing to move abroad to the Spanish capital and is "satisfied and complete" under Erik ten Hag.

When Fernandes signed a new contract, he told the club website: “Even after two years, it still feels amazing to step out at Old Trafford, to hear the fans sing my song and to score in front of the Stretford End.

"It is a true privilege to wear this shirt and to fight for our incredible club.

“There is so much more that I want to achieve here, and I know that is the same for the rest of the squad and staff. More than anything, we want to give the fans the success that they deserve.

“We have shared some great moments over the last years, but the best is yet to come from myself and this team.”
