Manchester United Midfielder Fred Shows Off New Haircut

Manchester United Midfielder Fred Shows Off New Haircut

The Brazilian midfielder will be hoping to impress new United manager Erik ten Hag but it'll likely take more than just a fresh do.

Manchester United midfielder Fred has decided to celebrate his summer break by showing off a new look, with his latest hairdo.

Midfielders at Old Trafford are no strangers to chat about their latest trips to the barber's chair, with Paul Pogba's hair often the subject of discussion, especially from Graeme Souness.

The Frenchman has now departed United for the second time in his career, with his contract having expired at the end of the season.

With the World Cup winner having departed, there is now space in the team to be filled, whether it's in the starting line up or in the column inches.

The Brazilian has certainly started off well, with his latest style certainly catching the attention, following his two game stint with the national team.

The 29-year-old has sometimes been a figure to mock United about, with Manchester City staff reportedly joking that their move for Erling Haaland cost less than United's for Fred.

Roy Keane was one of the midfielder's biggest critics earlier last season, especially after a loss against City in the derby, claiming anyone who said the player was good enough for United was in "cuckoo land."

The Irishman also said that he'd like to tell Ole Gunnar Solskjaer off for playing Fred, saying, "If Ole walked in here now I'd grab him and say 'why are you playing Fred?'"

Fred did get better under Ralf Rangnick, even leading to Keane praising the former Shakhtar Donetsk player for his performance against Leeds United.

Liverpool legend John Barnes also joined in the defence of the Brazil midfielder, claiming that he had been overly criticised for his performances in the Premier League.

Despite the loss of Pogba, it could take more than a bit of improvement and a flash new hair style to keep Fred in the team for the next campaign.

Erik ten Hag's introduction to the team gives players a clean slate but they will have to improve, especially in midfield where the new manager is well known to wanting a new signing.

Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong is being heavily linked with a reunion with the man who managed him at Ajax, and a defensive midfielder is another priority for the new boss.
